Certified Doula

I am a follower of Jesus, a wife, a mother of six, and a grandmother to six and counting. My husband and I live on a 100-acre farm where we continue raising our family and building a home-centered life rooted in loving the people around us and serving our community. Of all the work we have pursued, motherhood has been my greatest joy and highest calling for the past 28 years.

I became a certified doula through DONA International in 2021, originally to support my own daughters as they prepared for birth. I never intended to start a doula business, but as other women invited me into their pregnancy and birth experiences, I found myself falling in love with this work—walking alongside women through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the early days of motherhood.

Pregnancy, labor, and birth mark a sacred threshold—the beginning of a long and beautiful journey. This season is full of anticipation, vulnerability, courage, and awe. I believe women carry deep wisdom and ability within their bodies, and when they are surrounded by calm, safety, and understanding, that wisdom rises to meet the work of birth.

I believe God designed the female body with intention and grace, wonderfully capable of bringing forth life. Knowledge brings clarity and peace, and when fear is replaced with trust, the body often responds in remarkable ways. My role is to help families gather information, protect the birthing space, offer steady reassurance, and gently remind mothers of the strength God has already placed within them.

To walk alongside women during this powerful crossing—to witness new life entering the world and a mother being born—is an honor I hold with humility and care. I am deeply grateful for the privilege of supporting families as they step into one of the most sacred seasons of their lives.

Certified Doula

Hi, I’m Kenzie! My husband and I are high school sweethearts and we have two rambunctious little girls, ages 3 and 5. We live in Anderson where he runs our family business and leads a marriage ministry in our church. I have a passion for all things pregnancy, labor, and birth. The entire process is the only proof of God I will ever need. I love supporting women through this sacred journey into motherhood as it was designed to be.

When I was pregnant with my second child I discovered doula work and quickly fell in love. I received training from DONA International for birth doula and postpartum doula work. I also received a certificate in lactation support through my training with DONA. I have been a doula for three years and have assisted many births of all kinds (home birth, birthing center, and hospital) for clients all across the surrounding counties of Indianapolis. I have such a passion for supporting families through this special part of life, and doing so with the goal of having a positive experience with birth.

My Philosophy:

One of the most important things about being a doula is the presence we bring to a birth space. There can be a whirlwind of emotions throughout labor, so something I hear from the families I support is how integral the peaceful and non-anxious presence is for the space.

My favorite way to support families is actually encouraging the intimacy between the birthing mom and dad. I love finding ways to encourage the production of oxytocin and then I can provide more positional support and hands on counter pressure if desired, while dad provides mom with sweeter comfort, the way only a loving partner can.

I am a wife, mother of 2 sweet girls, believer in Jesus, and lover of all creatures big and small. I love music, dinners with my family, baking, and birth! Though that last one may be self explanatory!

My fascination with women's health began with my own journey to learn more about fertility. Through my research I discovered the Fertility Awareness Method. Using the Fertility Awareness Method allowed me to understand more about my hormones and cycle, which helped me achieve my first pregnancy. Educating myself as an adult has made me realize how little we truly learn about the processes our bodies go through as women. I want to be able to help women understand their options for pregnancy, birth and beyond.

After choosing midwifery care for the incredibly beautiful pregnancy and birth of my daughter in 2021, I felt called to support women and their partners through the journey of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Everyone deserves the kind of care that is important to them, whatever that looks like. I strive to educate women throughout their pregnancy to give them the confidence that their body and baby know what they are doing. That they are safe and that birth is a beautiful physiological process that is so incredibly empowering. I am here to encourage, nurture, and support you every step of the way.

My Philosophy:

My belief is that birth is one of the most profound moments of a woman’s life. The raw power, spiritual strength, and emotional strength a woman experiences during childbirth are truly life changing. We were created to do so many wonderful things, one of the biggest being birth! I believe a calm environment, especially one where you feel safe, and being surrounded with loving support can help so much when it comes to really being present and trusting your body during birth. I believe every woman can bring their baby earthside by following their own intuition. My goal is to support you and your partner as you follow that intuition to bring your baby into the world, encouraging through affirmation and comforting you with touch.
